Karwar-Gokarna:It was our 2nd Ann, having tasted the fun of beaches, a cousin of mine suggested karwar, a island near Goa…again a place that not many people were aware of. We can go to karwar either by train, prepaid taxis or buses from Madgaon and vasco railway station. Our first destination was the Esturay view resort in Karwar. This small and beautiful resort had a beach facing view. After relaxing overnight, we decided to visit the most sought after island there-Devbhag Island resort. This resort is in the middle of an island and can be reached by boat only. It had huts for accommodation and I am sure it would have been wonderful to stay there as well…but we were there just for a day. For the first time we tried out some exciting water sports like the water scooter ride etc.. We were also taken on a boat ride with surety that we could see some dolphins, flying fishes…but all we saw was flying fishes….After having a lavish lunch there and spending some time in water we headed back to our resort. That night there was bonfire lit up...

After staying there for 2 days, we transferred to our next destination which was “Om beach resort” of kairali group in Gokarna which was a 2 hrs journey from Esturay. On the way we saw India’s navy center, beach shore, forests.. The resort was an ayurvedic spa centre where people from different nations came to relax…

When we went to the beach the next day, we understood the reason for it to be called Om beach, it was simply because the beach when seen from a height was clearly shaped in the spiritual form of “Om”, an amazing creation of God. It was an all together a different experience to watch the Sunset on a neat, clean and flat beach with less crowd. The few other famous beaches in Gokarna include Kudle, Half Moon beach and Paradise beach which is famous for ancient temples

How to reach Karwar/Gokarna: Nearest station Karwar/Madgaon railway station (GOA).
Karwar is 2.5hrs by road from madgaon railway station.Prepaid taxis available at railwaystation.
Gokarna is 1hr from Karwar by road. 3.5hrs from Madgaon railway station.
